The Beijing Baiyun Palace Buddhist Orchestra was established on August 22, 1988, initially named "Baiyun Palace Taoist Music Group", and was renamed "Beijing Baiyun Palace Buddhist Orchestra" in 2006. The orchestra is composed of Buddhist monks from Baiyun Palace and teachers from the China Conservatory of Music. Its aim is to inherit and promote Taoist music culture. The religious advisors of the orchestra include Liu Zhiwei and Min Zhiting, the music advisors are Lu Su and Li Xiangxi, the music director is Zhu Guangxing, and the director is Li Xingjun, the abbot. 

The orchestra has participated in numerous Taoist music performances and has visited several countries and regions including Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, etc., receiving widespread acclaim. 12. Representative works of the orchestra include "White Crane Flies" and others. 1. In addition, the orchestra has also released CDs and VCDs such as "Celestial Music", "White Crane Flies", "Heavenly Lord's Rhythms", and "Daily Morning and Evening Prayers of the Taoist Sect". 13. 

The musical tones used by the orchestra belong to the genuine "Tenfold Tone" system. This type of tone is widely employed in Taoist temples across Shaanxi, Henan, Shandong, Zhejiang, Gansu, and Hubei provinces. The commonly used musical instruments for chanting in full-fledged Taoism mainly include percussion instruments such as cymbals, jingles, fish-shaped objects, bells, drums, gongs, and cymbals, accompanied by some orchestral accompaniment. 13
