The 24th direct descendant of the Huashan School. In 1941, he was born in Luoming Mountain, Nanzhao County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, into a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. Since childhood, he was taught medicine by his father. In his early years, he acquired knowledge in various clinical fields as well as the cultivation, collection, and processing of Chinese herbal medicines. He is hailed as the leading figure in the martial arts-based health preservation of Wudang.
Wang Taikuo highly values the ancient theory of "Yin and Yang in Youth" and advocates that people should return to a natural state to achieve the goal of health preservation. His representative works include "Tian Dao Health Preservation Technique and Detailed Instructions for Advanced Practice" and "Readings on the Characteristics of Medicinal Herbs".
In 1983, Wang Taikuo became a disciple of Daoist Master Li Zonghai at Sanxian Mountain Taoist Temple in Fangcheng County, Nanyang City. Thus, he succeeded in continuing the 24th generation of the Huashan School of the Taoist religion.
In December 2008, he was awarded the title of representative inheritor of the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage (i.e., Taoist medicine of Wudang Mountain) in Hubei Province.
