On October 30th, a Taoist cultural exhibition titled "Taoism: Pursuing Harmony Between Human and Nature" opened at the American Chinese Museum in downtown Washington, D.C.
Zhao Haisheng, a staff member of the Cultural Department of the Chinese Embassy in the United States, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He said that this Taoist exhibition will help the American people experience the long history and culture of Chinese Taoism. The exhibition of Chinese culture in the Chinese Museum has great potential in promoting the development of Sino US relations. China and the United States should strive to resolve differences and actively build a platform for cooperation between the two countries.

This Taoist Culture Exhibition is jointly organized by the Chinese Museum of China and the Shanghai Taoist Association, aiming to review history, look forward to the future, and leverage the enormous role of Chinese and overseas Chinese in promoting people to people exchanges between the two countries. This Taoist exhibition showcases the essence of Chinese Taoism through four main themes: Taoist culture, Taoist history, Taoist music, and Taoist costumes.
In addition to Zhao Haisheng, guests such as Ms. Christina Boe, Director of the Maryland Asia Pacific Community Committee, Ms. Li Fengqian, Maryland Senator, Guy Deakin, Director of the UNESCO Peace Center, as well as representatives of multiple ethnic organizations, Chinese overseas communities, and Chinese business representatives attended the opening ceremony.

The guests expressed in their speeches that holding this event at the Chinese Museum has special significance and can help more Chinese and overseas Chinese think about their responsibilities and energy. At present, the relationship between China and the United States is not in good condition. Only by putting the relationship back on track can it truly serve the interests of people all over the world.
Maryland Senator Li Fengqian also awarded a certificate to the Chinese Museum, recognizing the museum's commitment to collecting, preserving, researching, and displaying historical and cultural materials of Chinese Americans, documenting their daily lives and experiences in the United States, and reflecting the economic and cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
