     Ge Xuan (164-244) was a alchemist during The Three Kingdoms period. The courtesy name is Xiaoxian. A native of Jurong, Danyang (now in Jiangsu Province). According to the "Baopuzi", he once studied under Zuo Ci, practiced Taoist arts, and received alchemy classics such as the "Taiqing Elixir Classic", "Jiudang Elixir Classic", and "Jinye Elixir Classic", which were later passed on to Zheng Yin. It is said that he once practiced Taoism on the Gezao Mountain in Jiangxi Province. He often took medicine and was skilled in various talismans and spells, and had many strange arts. Later, Taoism respectfully referred to him as "Ge Xian Gong", also known as "Taiji Zuo Xian Gong". During the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty, he was enfeoffed as "Chongying Zhenren". During the reign of Emperor Lizong of the Southern Song Dynasty, he was enfeoffed as "Chongying Fuyou Zhenjun".
